A circuit for producing a d.c. output voltage corresp. to the logarithm of an a.c. input voltage uses a cascaded push-pull amplifiers with threshold limiting. It is designed for rapid output voltage response. The outputs of the push-pull amplifiers are combined via rectifier circuits in a common output channel. Full wave rectifier circuits are direct coupled to the push-pull amplifiers and are driven symmetrically by them. The am plifiers are regulated by a common regulating circuit which is supplied by one of the amplifiers. The output channel is connected to a summer amplifier whose other output is connected to a temp. compensation diode.
