The hoist for construction - and assembly - operations has a mast set up on a platform and a boom fixed to it by means of a hinge. The boom carries the basket for the assembly or repair man at its free end. A carriage (13) can move along the mast (1), and supports the hinge (25) for fixing the boom (2). The carriage (13) contains a housing (15) and two pairs of rollers (16, 16a, 17, 17a), which are mounted on the housing in diagonal pairs. One pair of rollers (16, 16c) is in continuous contact with the mast during carriage movement along the mast (1). The other pair of rollers (17, 17c) is at a distance from it.
