The appliance, for use in the building or demolition industries reduce the strain of heavy work for individuals. It is based on a wagon, travelling on swivelling rollers. This carries upright or slopping detachable tubular supports (3), with one or more lengthways grooves (4), and a lengthways movable and lockable (6) carrier rod (7), with a pronged head (8). A foot lever (10), engaging below the carrier rod is hinged to the wagon by a pair of swivelling fishplates (9). The rollers may be mounted at the ends of two unevenly intersecting hollow rods (13, 14).
