Arrangement provides adjustment of the valve clearance for combustion engines with overhead camshaft (11) of the type in which the valves (3) are actuated via a pusher sleeve (12) in the form of an inverted cup. The inside of the cup bottom (15) is provided with an inclined face (14) on which a wedge element (20) in contact with the top end (19) of the valve stem (3) is slidably arranged so as to permit varying the distance between the cup bottom and the valve. The wedge may have a recess (25) in the direction in which it can slide to receive an adjusting element (22, 24).
