Performance boost for flying boat turbine - uses compressor wash system to inject water and methanol into combustion chambers

The flying-boat turbine performance output is temporarily increased in order for the plane to become airborne by injecting water or a water-methanol mixture into the combustion chambers. The boost equipment consists of a water container, an auxiliary wash medium container, and a third container for the methanol. EAch container has its own separate pump and selector valve, and is connected to the wash system at the compressor intake. An intake valve actuated by same lever enables water or dilute methanol to be injected directly into the combustion chambers. A pressure switch, fitted in the wash injection feed pipe, checks the increased fuel flow on boost drive until the actual boost medium injection takes place.
