Warp knitting machine with double patterning drives - has guide bar in halves and cranked needles in overlapping leads

A warp knitting machine having a patterning drive at both ends, each of which works on one end of a needle bar, has the needle bar divided with both halves secured to the patterning drives. Pref. at the dividing faces the halves are machined to overlap and the last needle on both halves is arranged so that its eyelet is aligned to the other eyelets. There is play at the point of division between the faces and the projections are formed in the needle leads. The power required by the patterning drives is reduced so that wider machine widths can be worked at much higher speeds.
