The electric oven has a weighing device for goods to be cooked, connected through an operating element with a time switch control element. The oven is heated when the time switch is inoperative. It becomes operative when the oven temperature has reached the required level. The operating element is a mechanical sensor with a probe (16) inserted into the oven. It tests by operating a control element (35) the position of the weighing device and mechanically converts it into a corresponding roasting/baking time.
