The stockless anchor has a hollow crown and flukes with the crown and flukes made into 2 separate watertight compartments (K), filled about halfway with pourable material. The pourable material is quick-setting (e.g. concrete) and additional partitions (15) are fitted to the watertight compartments. These restrict the ballasting material (F) to one part of the compartments, leaving the remainder (H) empty or to be filled with a lightweight filler. As a result by varying the position of the partitions, the centre of gravity of the anchor can be positioned below the shank pivot (A) or above it, as may be most appropriate to the purpose of the anchor.
