A multicompartment tray for chich rearing from which the chicks scratchings will not easily remove the contents, and reduces waste. For this purpose, there is additional high rim (1) inside the existing rim (3) at the edge, and too close to it for food to be scratched out of the valley (2) between. Inside the high rim, the tray is divided into dishes (4) separated by ridges (5) of an intermediate height. The tray is of plastics, and square or rectangular, and so also will be the food dishes into which it is divided.
