Electric door locking bolt - has electromagnetic mechanism pulling spring-loaded bolt out of slot in door leaf edge

The electric door-opening mechanism has a bolt (10) fitted in the lock. The bolt is kept locked by a spring (12) which biases the tip (10a) of the chamfered bolt against the surface (10b) of the locking plate (16) fitted on the inside face of the door (18). The bolt is flanked by an electromagnet (20) fitted in a recess of the door (11). When the electromagnet is supplied with current through leads (13), the bolt is retracted against the pressure of spring (12) into the recess to allow the edge (16a) of the locking plate to clear the door edge.
