A traction device has at least one pully with a traction rope or cable passing over it which is connected to a chin support. It has the chin support constructed from two internally cushioned rigid angled shells (1A,1B) which lie beneath the jaw bone. The shells (1A,1B) have a device (2) at one end by means of which there separation may be adjusted. The upper edge of each shell (1A,1B) has twin attachments for the tractor chords (12). The chord (12) is attached to one end of a twin arm lever (A) through a ring (13). The rear main support (5) is connected to the ring (13) by an additional chord (14).
