Valve for pressure gas packing - has profiled seal thinner in outer ring section than unloaded clamping region

The valve for pressure gas packing has a seal which rests with its outer border at least partly on the inner circumferential surface of the valve support or on a part connected to it. The seal is profiled and has a thickness which is less in a ring section positioned beyond the clamping border (7) than it is in the unloaded clamping region (a). The ring section of smaller thickness is bounded at least on one side by a cone surface. Charging channels (25) are located near the circumferential wall (4) of the valve support (2). A bypass chamber (24) is formed between the ring section and the neighbouring housing part. When the seal is loaded by charging pressure it is deflected into the chamber and creates a space (28) between it and the wall (9) of the valve support.
