Amplifier inputs are connected through resistors to an input terminal and through further resistors to a reference potential. Each resistor (R1, R2) connected to the input terminal (E) is in series with a diode (D1,D2) of opposite polarity to the other. Amplifier (V) output is connected through a resistor (R5) to its inverting input. Both non-inverting and inverting inputs of the amplifier (V) ar earthed through transverse connected resistors (R3,R4). The values of the resistors are chosen so that their ratios are related to the gain of the amplifier to achieve the desired result from the circuit.
