Retardation warning for vehicle - has brake lights operated if accelerator pedal is released above set speed

The brake pedal of the vehicle is linked to a brake light switch in the conventional way while a second switch, in parallel, is operated by the throttle pedal, to activate the brake lights when the throttle is released. An interlock prevents the throttle activation of the brake lights below a set speed. The system provides a simple indication to following motorists that the vehicle ahead is slowing suddenly. This provides early warning of emergency braking. The throttle interlock can be linked to the carburettor setting or the setting of the fuel injection pump. The speed interlock is linked directly to the speedometer.
