The housing is intended for overvoltage arresters (8) used in telecommunications system. Two housing parts (1,2) are interconnected by a gripping bridge (3) and fitted with guideways (4), permitting the overvoltage arrester housing to be moved only in the direction B. Clamping contact springs match by shape and size the testing fins, mounted in a junction box, both mechanically and electrically. On mounting the arresters are gripped at both cylindrical metal ends by circular contact springs (7,9) which are mounted on a common earth busbar (5). Each spring is connected to a bridge in an insulating manner.
