The bucket conveyor has two side by side sets of buckets (5,5') mounted each side of a conveying chain (2), or alternatively a toothed belt. One side of each bucket is secured by a pivot (4) to an outer guide (9) and the other side by a further pivot (3) to the chain. Between the two rows of buckets is a further guide (8) which supports the chain. The pivots (4) for the outer guides (9) may include rollers (7'). The discharge openings of one set of buckets can be in line with the discharge openings of the other set, so that each pair of buckets can discharge at the same time. Alternatively, the openings of each pair can be staggered.
