Reference pulse generator for stochastic:ergodic A:D converter - has pulse amplitude rising or falling under control of memory

The reference pulse generator, for a stochastic ergodic A/D converter, has its pulse duration varied from pulse to pulse. The pulses consists of voltages rising or falling in time. The rise and fall times vary under the control of a summation counter (Z2). A comparator compares the output of a noise generator with a signal that is constant within the noise generator's range of amplitudes. The comparator output is passed to the counter whose own output is fed to a memory. The memory retains the counter state after each rising or falling pulse and controls the switches (Sl-Sn) that alter the rise and fall times.
