Cantilever track beam is designed for use in a magnetically cushioned transport system comprising two pairs of rails positioned one above the other to support electrically powered vehicles. The beam is of rectangular cross-section, hollow, steel structure which carries on its corners spacer sections (7) and profiled rails (11,12) made of non-magnetic material e.g. aluminium alloy. These structures serve to hold the track permanent magnets (8) for supply the current to provide lateral guidance for the vehicle (5). Current collecting and lateral guide rollers (15,16,17) rotatable about vertical axes are mounted on the vehicle chassis (4) in front of or behind the upper vehicle permanent magnets.
