Recorder for working operations such as working times, labour costs, material usage etc. works in conjunction with job cards carrying individual values. The record (1) has the form of a drawing desk and is fitted with a recording medium supply, e.g. a paper roll (2, 6) and a printing head (3) to which the paper is fed over guide rollers. A knife (5) is also fitted to cut the paper at the appropriate points. The recorder may be designed for manual writing of the records or mechanical typing.
