摘要
A ski brake assembly (1) has two brake arms (8b) which are joined by a horizontal shaft. The brake arm shaft is located behind the heel clamp. When a ski boot is attached to the ski by the binding, the trigger bracket (39 is held down by the boot and the brake arms are parallel with the ski. By removing the boot from the ski, the trigger bracket (39) is released and the brake arms rotate through 90 deg., thus obstructing the motion of the ski. The brake arm shaft is rotated by the force of a torsion spring, and when in position, it is held there by a rack and pinion drive and a sliding lock plate.
