A twenty four volt output voltage regulator is fed from a 12 or 24 volt battery supply, which can be connected to the regulator without regard to polarity. The regulator contains an input polarity correction unit comprising a diode and relay, which supply 12 volts to a transistor inverter with the correct polarity. The inverter output, taken from a transformer and diode rectifier pair, is fed to a transistor 12V regulator and out put stage which is in turn connected in series with the input polarity corrected 12V battery supply, to provide the 24V output required. A current breaker inhibits the inverter in the case of a 24V battery supply being applied, while a start button starts the inverter oscillating, if necessary.
