The double-axle bogie for fast passenger-carrying rail carriages has a transverse spring rate for each wheel of 106 N/m, and a longitudinal spring rate of 2-5 times the transverse rate. The load carrier (9) is indirectly suspended via a pivoted adjustable pendulum (11), of a length of 500...700m, from the bogie frame (2). The spring movement is plus-or-minus (40 -60mm) along a straight path. The linear transverse spring characteristic is 50-75% of this spring movement, with subsequent progressive characteristics via an additional spring. Hydraulic shock absorbers have a dampening rate of 0.4-0.6 over 90% of the complete spring movement.
