Ribbed conveyor belt for fruit picking machine - has transverse ribs at outside and longitudinal ribs at inside to hold fruit and give guidance

A belt is esp. used in fruit picking machines. It has profiles (1) at the side of the belt facing away from the driving pulley. The profiles may be ribs extending transversely or obliquely to the length of the belt. The fruit is received between to cooperating such belts. The belt is further provided at the side facing the pulley with one or more longitudinal guide ribs (4) thereby to provide lateral support for the belt on the pulley. Alternatively or additionally the belt may have along its length, openings (8), for engagement by a driving sprocket.
