A drum for a conveyor belt consists of a drum shell and two side members enclosed in the shell. Projecting through and rigidly attached to the side members is a shaft by which the drum is rotated. Each side member has between its circumferential surface coaxial with the drum axis and the inner surface of the drum shell a pretensioned entropy elastic insert. It is preferably rubber elastic and it transmits the driving power of the drum. Between the circumferential surface of the side member (12) and the inner surface (18) of the drum shell are provided pressurising parts (17) on which are mounted the elastic inserts (20). The pressurising parts (17) are at least radially adjustably relatively to the drum axis (X) and held in position by adjusting devices detachably located in the shell or on the side members.
