Tensile stress recorder and control system - uses contactless measuring via pressure gauge connected to rolls on rolling stand for dimensional control

The appliance is for the recording and control of tensile stress, to maintain constant dimensions, of material processed between pairs o frollers positioned behind each other. It is esp. suitable for a rolling mill train for iron and other metals, hot-and cold rolling, and esp. for use with stands having an absolute constant rolling speed, with control of constant traction by rolling gap adjustment. The stands accommodating the roller pairs are positioned, so that the adjusted tensile force applied to the material being rolled act as a momentum force onto the staands via the roller pairs, this being constantly measured by pressure gauges connected to the stands. Deviations fron the tensile force reference value are processed into impulse signals of a control circuit. The signals actuate the drives to adjust the rolling gap of the roller pair concerned.
