Centrifugal governor compensator spring adjustment - has slow running characteristic altered without influencing main regulation

The slow running (6) and compensator springs (5) are fitted inside a cover (2) located in the tension lever (1) and mutually supported by an axially displaceable plate (7). The plate (7) is integrated with a sleeve (8) provided with a stop (9) for slow running adjuster spring collar (4). The two springs are fitted around a centre bolt (12) between end discs (10, 11). The one end disc (11) is axially adjustable in order to adjust the main spring tension. The slow running spring (6) is adjusted by an adjuster ring (13) let into the sleeve (8) to support itself on the slow running spring. The adjuster ring is provided with studs (14) which extend through the spring cover (2) to rest in recesses (16) in the tensioning ring (15).
