A device prevents filling of bottles and other containers, and is inserted in the neck of the bottle or container. It is of a funnel shape with open top and bottom. In the funnel shaped device is positioned a ball which is freely movable and has its diameter greater than the bottom opening and smaller than the top opening of the funnel shaped device. The top edge of the funnel shaped device is provided along its circumference with inwards facing projections which are preventing the ball from falling out and at the same time permitting flow of a discharged liquid. The edge projections are so constructed that they yield under pressure when the ball is inserted in the funnel shaped device and are resisting the weight of the inserted ball.
