Window prism element screen controlling glare and radiation - uses interior oriented opaque and outwards vertical and downwards horizontal surfaces to diffuse light

The screen for a window comprises a number of transparent prism units with horizontal optical sides, partially opaque on one upwards-facing surface. These opaque prism surfaces face into the interior, and there are vertical surfaces facing outwards, and horizontal ones facing downwards. There may be smaller prism units, with a downward facing edge, on the interior prism edges. The prism units may be ribs on a transparent panel; or bars held at the ends; or embedded in a panel made of transparent plastic. Deep interior lighting is improved by deflecting light horizontally, and excessive heat radiation is checked while diffuse zenith light is admitted.
