The cutter head consists of a main body (2) on which at least two roughing cutter bits (4) are mounted. These bits are mounted in the end face of the head, with the cutting edge at right angles to the centreline of the head. One or more cutter bits (3) for finish machining are mounted along the circumference of the head. The finishing cutter bits are mounted at an angle so that they cut with the corners. The roughing cutter bits (4) are mounted on holders (6) which can be moved axially in the cutter head, so that they can be retracted after rough machining.
