A current cut-off switch is built into the seat belt lock operating in such a way that flow of current remains interrupted as long as seat belt is not fastened, i.e. when the locking plate is not inserted into the lock. The lock body (4) is fixed to the car chassis by a flexible anchorage (5). The hollow part of the lock body contains the contact assembly (6, 6'). The contact (6) is connected to the feed cable from the ignition switch and carriers rocking switch arm (11) with a contact point at its other end. When the locking plate end is inserted into lock (4), it presses down the rocking switch so that contact is made between cable (6), rocking arm, contact (9) and cable (6) leading to the starter motor.
