Metallic strip manufacturing machine - produces deep drawn tube from bar and slits it using divider and flattens it

A block of metal (2) which is to be deep drawn is mounted in the press. A die (3) forces the metal through a matrix (1) against a counter die (4). The die and matrix are so shaped, that the material must first flow out radially, after which it can flow out axially. a tube (8) is formed which has a larger diameter than the rod of raw material. A divider (9) is mounted at the end of the matrix and agains the counter die. The divider causes the tube of enlarged diameter to be split along one side, as the material must flow past the divider. The split tube formed is flattened out to form a strip.
