The plug is for fixing in a masonry wall. The dowel seats well in the hole and does not itself turn as the screw is inserted. The full length of the plug is used to ensure that it does not come out when under tension. The plug has an inner hole and its end is divided longitudinally into two halves. It has a constant cross section basically but there are longitudinal ridges and a series of spreading segments of different cross section. At least one of the segments (5) has two extending arms (14) with adjacent recesses. There is a ring flange (11) at the screw head end together with fins in the upper part of the plug. One of the segments can have projecting teeth (12,13).
