At the outlet of a glass breaking machine is a vibratory conveyor table, fitted with side walls and spreader plates, and which oscillates in a longitudinal direction. The broken glass is spread sideways on the table and then travels onto a sieve with holes through which the fine glass fraction passes; and above the sieve is a suction device which removes foreign particles possessing a low wt. The spreader plates pref. consist of diverging baffles and/or roller brushes used to spread the glass; a vibrator may also used to impart transverse vibration to the conveyor table.
