Aerosol compsns. for pre-laundering heavily soiled fabrics - contain a phosphated anionic surfactant

The compsn. comprises 2-50 wt % of a phosphate ester type anionic surfactant (I) and 50-98 wt % of an organic solvent (II). (I) are more effective than known nonionic surfactant and are compatible with propellants commonly used in aerosol systems. They are esp. useful with permanent press textiles (which are generally hydrophobic and therefore more difficult to clean with conventional detergents) and overcome the disadvantages of using biological aids (i.e. long soaking times, skin irritation) as well as having rapid action (e.g. 1 min.). (I) are known cpds. made by phosphating an nonionic hydroxy cpd. with P2O5.
