The rotor for a dynamo with permanent magnet has a cup shaped flywheel with permanent magnets on the inner wall. The rotor has further a lower, annular clamping element with a bevelled surface, mounted in the flywheel bottom. The lower end of each magnet rests on this bevelled surface, so that the magnets are held in the correct axial position. The magnets are fastened in the flywheel in both axial and radial directions. They may be fastened by an adhesive applied between the inner surface of the flywheel and the outer surfaces of the magnets. The clamping element may be in one piece with the flywheel.
