The hazard warning triangle is made from steel strip which is flexible enough to be rolled up, and with the separate sides pinned together on pivot joints. The triangle is unpinned at one end and rolled as one strip into the base container (21). The container also holds a battery and a warning light, (25) so that the triangle is more easily seen at night. The container is ballasted so that the triangle is not blown over by wind or by passing cars. It can also be set on a car roof, even when it is being towed. A magnetic base aids the fitting to the car roof. In the stored position, with the strip rolled inside the container, the magnet enables it to be fastened under the boot lid for ready access.
