The rapid analysis procedure is suitable for ore samples of high conductivity obtained during prospecting. Such ores are, for example, copper or iron pyrites or lead blend, and a sample is put into a measuring cell (M) which operates in conjunction with a reference cell. The electric circuit used comprises a generator (G) which transmits a current with a variable frequency in the range 10 Hz to 100 Hz. An electrode in the cell remote from the generator is connected to an earth shunt resistor (Ra) and through an amplifier (V) to a phase angle detector (PH) which controls a chart recorder (SCH).
