The upwardly-directed water stream is produced within a lavatory basin. It has a spray which moves into operating position on actuation. The spray head is fixed on an axially moving arm held by a spring in a cylinder with pre-heated water under pressure. The water flow is released as soon as the arm reaches its operating position. The control system includes a sliding locking disc (16) for releasing the water flow from within the cylinder (13) to the actuating element (20). The arm (14) is coaxial with the cylinder (13) which has an opening (21) for warm water. The arm (14) has a disc (16) between the outside wall of the arm and inner wall of the cylinder 13). The actuating piston (20) is fastened on the spray head end to a rod (10) coaxial with cylinder (13).
