Viscous pressure compensating compsn. contg. microbeads - for foot wear, handles, upholstery and orthopaedic and prosthetic equipment

The compsn. comprises a homogeneous stable viscous continuous phase of wax and oil contg. uniformly distributed discrete light-weight strong beads. The quantity of the wax-oil phase is sufficient to provide more than a thin coating over the whole outer surfaces of all the beads, and has a vol. greater than the vol. of the interstices between beads. The compsn. has uniform consistency, does not vary in vol. at ambient temp. or variations thereof, is resistant to collapse, flows at and conforms to constant pressure, and resists flow under momentary pressure when enclosed in conditions of charging. The beads are pref. expanded microbeads of vinylidene chloride and acrylonitrile.
