Displacement of the sound track location on a film track by use of an auxiliary magnetic track, enables cutting and editing to be effected while still maintaining sound continuity. The film has central photographic frames with magnetic tracks located on either side of it. each frame has an associated section of magnetic audio recording on the one main track. The film is driven by a sprocket wheel driving on a track between the photographic frames and the sound track. An erase (30) and a record/playback (26) pick-up are mounted as a pair on the one track. Six photographic frames further along, a similar pair (28, 32) is mounted on the other track. One pick-up (26) transfers the signal over an amplifier (36) and two relays (42) to the other recording head (28).
