The body builder or trainer for home use comprises a chair (9), with corner wheels (8, 7) running on twin parallel horizontal rails (1, 2): a longitudinal coil spring (27) ties the back of the chair to a terminal rail traverse (5) and a cable with terminal hand grips (19) traverses four pulley wheels; two located beneath the chair seat front and two (17) on the other terminal rail traverse (3). In plan the pulleys locate at the corners of a rectangle parallel to and fitting within the rails. The exerciser, strapped (10) in the chair and braced against a transverse footrest (23) pulls the cable handles, mobilizing the chair against the spring. Different spring orientation arrangements effect exercise of various muscle groups.
