Machine for fixing cutting tips on rotary blades - abrasive belt carries tips to step rotated induction heated blade

The crennelated periphery blades are rotated by a ram (27) which pivots an arm (17) short segments under the control of microswitches (21). This aligns the edge of the blade with a vertical abrasive metal belt which receives tungsten carbide cutting tips from a magazine. The belt is step driven to a cutting position where the part of the belt carrying the cutting tip is detached and moved by a further hydraulic ram assembly against the periphery of the blade. An electrode arm is moved by a ram against the edge of the blade when the cutting tip is positioned, to heat the blade and tip by induction and secure the tip.
