The bodies are compressed quickly into a mass of small volume and thus increasing the payload of the transporter vehicle and reducing its turn around time and the time taken at the scrap yard. The equipment includes a semi-trailer. On the towing vehicle is mounted a long jibbed, swivelling crane with a grab. The trailer platform is inclined towards its rear at the end of which is a rack. This rack can be moved forward to compress the trailer contents. Rollers and similar devices help the load being crushed to move forward towards strong forward end trailer members.
