Salts of pyridoxine with aryloxy alkanoic acids - useful as antihyperlipemic agents for oral administration

Pyridoxine-aryloxy alkanoic acid salts are prepd. by mixing cpds. of formula (I) or (II), or pref. by mixing cpds (III) and (II), (where R1 and R2 are H or 1-4C hydrocarbon, and Ar and Ar' are phenyl opt. substd. by =1 Cl). The salts are used as anti-hyperlipemic agents. The cpds. are mixed in equimolar proportions in a suitable solvent such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone. The salts may be given orally as tablets at 1000-2000 mg/day for an adu lowering of blood cholesterol level being noticed after the 4th or 5th day.
