The process to decrease the fuel consumption in an engine with a conventional carburettor consists in machining the carburettor choke tube. This identification is made according to the mathematical formula D=(0.82 x square root CxR) x 106 where D is the carburettor diameter in millimeters, C is each cylinder's volume in cubic centimetres and R is the maximum number of engine revolutions per minute, in thousands of revolutions per minute. Generally and based on experimentation, a widening of the choke-tube by the constant ratio of 0.06 of the original decreases the air's pressure to produce a saving of fuel as less petrol is required during acceleration.
