High pressure and flow flexible pipe connections - interior of manifold is smooth to reduce deposits and give laminar flow

The coupling box of manifold is formed of a body (13) and cover (14) sealed with a ring seal (16). The interior of the box (17) is smoothly curved, to allow laminar flow of the working fluid in either direction. Similarly the passages (71) to the flexible coupling joints are free of screw threads. The general interior smoothing prevents build up of any solid deposits and the inspection cover allows frequent checks of cleanliness to be made. Provision is also made for valves (18) which may be used to isolate a particular line without the need to stop the machine. Automatically closing "push pull" connectors may also be used in this position. The improvements reduce machine "down time" for either scheduled maintenance or repair.
