Powered bolt tightening tool for threaded tube joints - has radially slotted pinion receiving tube and nut

The tool, designed to effect the tightening from a station eccentric w.r.t. the axis of bolt rotation, i.e. with the power source on an extended bolt radius and esp. for making screwed connections between co-axial tube elements, features three meshing cog-wheels. One wheel is radially slotted for passage over the tube and engagement of the nut. This slot extends radially into the cog beyond the axis of revolution and is the width of one cog tooth. The penultimate transmission cog has much larger teeth mating with those of the bolt tightening outer cog, and the third cog coupling to the drive shaft is through bevel gears.
