The seat support is fixed to the carriage floor and has a liner bush with a central hole. At the upper end is a plug, in the liner, having a flat top face and a central bore with a radiused groove across its diameter. The seat is fitted to one end of a tube. Below its flat face a large dowel pin is inserted through the tube, projecting each side. The tube rotates in the central bores of the support, with the dowel pin held in the groove by a spring compressed between the plug and a plate.
