An insecticidal device worn by domestic animals comprises: an insecticidal substance having an LD50 in rats of 50-500 mg/kg and a vapour pressure at 25 degrees C below 0.0001 mm Hg; a solid vinyl(idene) macromolecular substance, esp. a (co)polymer of vinyl chloride; a plasticiser; opt. a dye, pigment, stabiliser and deodorant; opt. a receptacle contg. the remainder of the insecticidal device having a hollow cross section, in flexible plastic material which is insol. in the active ingredient and a non-solvent, or poor solvent for it, the cross section being closed at the ends and having 12-60 cm long holes along its length, the receptacle having a method of attachment; and opt. a container, impermeable to the active ingredient. Used for control of ectoparasites on domestic animals.
