The box has a rectangular cross-section with each end closed by flaps, folded in and glued. Those (10, 12, 14, 16) on the narrow sides (5, 7) are closed n first, leaving a gap between. The flaps (9, 11, 13, 15) on the wider sides (4, 6) are then folded over and glued together to close the end. The long edge of a larger flap at each end has a triangular extension over its central portion, the other flap having a similar shaped cutout. When folded, the overlap is a narrow band (c) forming a central V-shape with straight wings. Gluing this overlap creates a zone of rigidity preventing bowing. Pull tabs (25) can be provided.
